I am a young dad, partner, a son and a student all at the same time. Before I started my teaching career, it's been so hard for a young man like me to provide everything for my kids, my own school fees and all. But thanks to ACADSOC! I've found the best job for me. I was a sophomore student when my girlfriend got pregnant with our first born. Both of our family got really disappointed. But eventually, they realized that everything happened for a reason. My eldest gave us the reason to stay stronger.
But since then, it's been so hard for me since we are starting our own family. I became a working student. Completing my college has always been my dream and my parent's dream. Knowing that I can just work part-time, my earnings are not enough to provide for my family. I started to join a networking company and able to suffice for my son's needs. After a year, another baby boy added to our growing family. Having a new Blessing gave us more responsibility. During that time, it's been so hard for me to give up my dream to become a Chef. I need to work double time for my two angels. Since then, I became selfless. Not because I am complaining about my responsibilities. I felt like I don't have time for myself anymore and buy some stuff that I want. I worked as a barista, a waiter, and a flyers disposer. I even tried to be an assistant to an auto mechanic just to survive every single day. And then one day, an Acadsoc sourcing staff luckily contacted my partner and asked her if she wanted to apply as a sourcing staff of the company. They were friends from Primary School and in their childhood. My partner is an online English tutor from a local company here in the Philippines and who caters to Japanese students. She tried to apply as a sourcing staff but it wasn't successful. Then she tried to apply as a Tutor and got hired! But her schedule was too tight so she encouraged me to apply.
Being an Online teacher isn't really my cup of tea. I really want to achieve my dream as a Chef but opportunity does not let me. We even had a misunderstanding because she really encourages me to be an online Tutor. And here it goes... Right after I applied and send my details to my partner's friend (Acadsoc Staff). They immediately scheduled me for an interview which happened the day after. The feeling is unexplainable and feels some butterflies in my stomach. I know my English capabilities. But thank God, I got hired and scheduled for a process training. After the demo, a very good news came saying that I am now an official tutor of Acadsoc. I am so happy but honestly, I still can't accept the fact that I cannot pursue my childhood dream. The compensation is indeed competitive amongst all the job that who qualifies me as an undergraduate student. I had my very first student Miss Tina, a working adult who loved the way I teach. My first student gave me a 5-stars rating on my first day. I felt so motivated and started to love teaching young learners. I'm loving my new career path even more.
